Marines are a unique breed; they don’t go by the same rules as soldiers. They have their own set of standards, training, history, uniform and sense of pride. In short, they’re not just soldiers in different uniforms!
Training: Marines receive specialized training in a variety of areas, including combat tactics, weapons handling, and physical fitness. This rigorous training prepares them for the rigors of military service and helps them to become effective soldiers.
Uniforms: Marines wear distinctive uniforms that are designed to be both functional and stylish. The uniform includes a dress blue coat with white trousers, a black belt with brass buckle, and a white hat with an eagle insignia on the front.
Rank Structure: Marines have their own rank structure that is separate from other branches of the military. This rank structure includes private first class (PFC), corporal (CPL), sergeant (SGT), staff sergeant (SSG), gunnery sergeant (GSG), master sergeant (MSG) and lieutenant colonel (LTC).
Motto: The Marine Corps motto is “Semper Fidelis” which translates to “Always Faithful” in Latin. This motto reflects the commitment of Marines to serve their country faithfully no matter what the cost may be.
History: The Marine Corps was founded in 1775 as part of the Continental Navy during the American Revolution and has since served in every major conflict involving U.S forces up until present day operations around the world
